    • Purple Mounted Stones, 1/8" Shank

    These "top of the line" mounted stones are made with a unique combination of Sol Gel ceramic grain and our high quality Pink fused aluminum oxide to produce the sharpest cut, and most durable of the friable grain vitrified bond stones. This combination gives it a distinctive purple color.

    Ceramic grain is the most friable grain produced. Due to the sharp cutting action, this mixture is used on high nickel alloys for the aerospace industry, as well as many common varieties of steels and alloys.

    All are mounted on 1-1/2" long plated, 1/8" steel shanks. Also available on 3mm shanks. Grit varies from 80, 100 to 120.

    Features:

    • Increased Material Removal: Reduced cycle time and more cycles per dress.
    • Cooler Running: Newly exposed surfaces are sharp, not dull, so less surface area is in contact with the work-piece. Creates considerably less heat and less risk for work-piece damage.
    • Holds Shape Longer: Includes a platelet component that helps hold the micro-grains in place longer than conventional grains or other sol-gel ceramic grains.
    • Continuous Cutting: The newly exposed surfaces have very sharp edges allowing efficient grinding.
    • Less Force Necessary: To get the same rate of material removal as other grains, significantly less force is needed, thus increasing life of equipment and abrasive.
    • Longer Abrasive life allows the grain to cut longer.
    • Less Loading: The sharp surfaces continue to cut or break away as needed before any loading can occur.

    For recommended speeds, consult the American National Standards Institute for full information on vitrified mounted wheels.

    • Can be dressed with our Tru-Stone.
    • Mounted on 1/8" plated steel shanks which are 1-1/2" long.
