Product Description

Luxon® is a light-curing, ceramic-free, acrylic design material particularly suitable for color-transparent applications.  Curing Luxon® depends on the color and thickness of the material. Depending on your desired effect, you might need to apply additional layers of material with corresponding additional exposures to the blue light.


Properties:

  • Surface Hardness of 140 N/mm²
  • High-quality surfaces with high color fastness
  • Individually polishable surfaces (matt gloss – high gloss)
  • High bond to metal
  • Mix this Transparent with other colors to produce a unique, almost translucent effect
  • Mix with White for a pastel effect
  • Fast curing with visible blue light (480 nm)
  • Ready to use


General steps: 

Sandblast the metal surface including side walls

Thoroughly clean your pieces

Apply of Luxon® Link

Apply HyCeram® Bond

Use TwinLux Dual to cure with UV light (440-480nm)

Roll off the resulting inhibited layer with the foam roller

Apply your choice of Luxon® color

Use TwinLux Dual to cure with UV light (440-480nm) for 60 sec.

Can finish by grinding and/or polishing to achieve your desired result.  


Exposure to light from the TwinLux Dual curing tool for 1-minute yields the following different, color specific curing depths: 

our 8213800 Pure Clear = > 30mm

our 8213802 Atlas White = > 3mm

our 8213804 Chili Red = > 0.5mm

our 8213806 Gulf Orange = > 0.5mm

our 8213808 Oriole Yellow = > 0.3mm

our 8213810 Victoria Green = > 0.8mm

our 8213812 Rally Blue = > 2.5mm

our 8213814 Piano Black = > 0.2mm


Storage:

Store at room temperature (15°C-28°C = 58°F-82°F).
