Greater Control for Detailed Work

Dental welding requires exceptional accuracy, especially when working with small components, complex geometries, and heat-sensitive areas.

Sisma laser welders concentrate energy precisely at the weld point, helping limit heat exposure to surrounding areas while producing clean, controlled, and repeatable welds.

Ideal for applications including:

  • Bridge and framework repairs
  • Removable partial denture frameworks
  • Implant-supported structures
  • Contact point corrections
  • Marginal closure adjustments
  • Precision repairs and modifications

Versatility for Your Lab

From framework fabrication to detailed repairs, Sisma laser welders support a wide range of dental applications, materials, and alloys.

  • Dental Frameworks and Prostheses

Join and assemble metal components for crowns, bridges, removable partial dentures, and other dental frameworks.

  • Implant restorations

Weld titanium and titanium-alloy components for implant-supported restorations, framework assemblies, and detailed adjustments.

  • Repairs & Modifications

Repair fractured frameworks, fill porosity, build up worn areas, and modify margins without replacing the entire restoration.

  • Additive Manufactured Parts

Join, modify, and repair metal dental components produced through additive manufacturing processes such as SLM and DMLS.

  • Dental Metals & Alloys

Work with precious metal alloys, Cobalt-Chromium alloys, Titanium & Titanium Alloys, Stainless Steels, and Nickel-Chromium Alloys across dental applications.

  • Precision Assemblies

Join very small components where conventional TIG welding, brazing, or soldering would create an excessively large heat-affected zone.

Precision Meets Productivity

The Sisma LM-D Series combines precise parameter control with the performance needed for demanding dental and orthodontic laboratory workflows.

Up to 300 Joules

Dental Laser Welding FAQs

What is a dental laser welder used for?

Dental laser welders are used to join, repair, and modify small metal components using highly localized heat. Applications can include bridges, removable partial dentures, implant-supported structures, and other dental laboratory components.

What metals can the Sisma lasers weld for dental applications?

Sisma can handle a variety of alloys including, but not limited to precious metal alloys, Cobalt-Chromium alloys, Titanium & Titanium Alloys, Stainless Steels, Nickel Chromium Alloys. Welding parameters should be selected based on the specific alloy and application.

Can a laser welder weld titanium dental components?

Yes. Pulsed Nd: YAG laser welding is used for titanium dental applications. The LM-D supports an argon connection for applications requiring shielding gas.

Why is argon used when laser welding titanium?

Argon helps protect the heated titanium weld area from atmospheric contamination during welding. Displacing oxygen from the weld site is particularly important when working with reactive metals such as titanium.

Can the Sisma LM-D weld cobalt-chromium dental alloys?

Yes. Sisma lasers can weld togethr a host of similar and dis-similar non-ferrous alloys including cobalt-chromium

How small of a weld can the Sisma LM-D make?

The standard LM-D focal spot diameter ranges from 0.2 to 2.0 mm. With available Nano Spot technology, the minimum spot diameter can be reduced to 0.05 mm.

What is Nano Spot technology?

Nano Spot is Sisma technology designed for extremely fine laser welding. It reduces the minimum laser spot diameter to 0.05 mm, allowing technicians to concentrate laser energy on a very small area.

Does every Sisma laser welder include Nano Spot?

No. Nano Spot availability depends on the specific LM-D configuration. A Gesswein laser specialist can help determine whether Nano Spot is appropriate for your applications.

What is the difference between the Sisma LM-D and LM-DT?

Both are desktop Nd: YAG laser welding systems. The LM-DT adds an integrated camera system for viewing the welding process on screen and supports connection to an external monitor.

How do I choose the right laser welder for my dental lab?

Consider the materials you work with, number of operators, component size, required spot size, production volume, chamber access, and the types of repairs or fabrication your technicians perform. Gesswein can help you compare configurations based on your needs and expectations
