Product Description

The Little Torch™ by Smith is a must for any bench jeweler. With 5 tip sizes included, you can produce a flame as small as a thin thread or large enough to cast up to three ounces of gold or silver, reaching temperatures up to 6,300°F. It's ideal and reliable for a myriad of jewelry tasks in repair, retail, or manufacturing settings.

  • Precision brazing: Works with an unlimited range of materials, from less than 0.001" copper wire to 16-gauge steel.
  • Accurate heating: Heats the tiniest elements with accuracy and solders both hard and soft materials.
  • Lightweight, balanced body: Rugged aluminum alloy body weighs only 0.5 oz. and is well-balanced for easy maneuvering in areas impossible to reach with a conventional tool.
  • Precise flame control: Pencil-style handle directs the flame exactly where you want it for a clean, professional job.
  • Flexible hoses: Thin, extremely lightweight hoses add flexibility, giving you infinite control at an infinite variety of settings and sizes.
  • Fuel Compatibility: Works with acetylene, propane, natural gas, or hydrogen as the fuel gas. Do not switch fuels once used. See "important info" below.

This system includes:

  • Torch handpiece
  • Two 8-foot hoses (one fuel, one oxygen) with “B” fittings (9/16" thread)
  • Five torch tips, sizes #3 through #7

Important Info:

Tanks shipped empty.

Important: “B” fittings (9/16"-18 thread) are the U.S. standard. As a safety feature, the oxygen side uses right-hand (RH) threads and the fuel side uses left-hand (LH) threads, so the two can't be cross-connected. Customers outside the U.S. should confirm their tanks and regulators match these connections (CGA 540 for oxygen, CGA 510 for propane) before ordering, or plan to source local adapters.

While the Little Torch™ can run on acetylene, propane, natural gas, or hydrogen, only one fuel gas should ever be run through a given set of hoses. Switching fuels through the same hoses lets residual gases mix, which can create an explosion hazard. If you want to use a different fuel gas, use a separate, dedicated set of hoses.
